It has been a pleasure to work with Megan Sievers, my physical therapist from Holland Physical Therapy.  From my first evaluation visit with her, I appreciated her knowledge and expertise in her field.  She was very thorough in her assessment of my condition and then helped me to understand what needed to be accomplished to achieve pain-free success.  Megan has such a positive demeanor and always had a smile on her face.  I am very pleased with my therapy time spent with her and will definitely seek her help again, if I need additional physical therapy.  She is very good at what she does!

I cannot say enough excellent things about Holland Physical Therapy. They helped me become a healthy, young person again. I started at their office two and a half months ago, after completing chemotherapy. At my first appointment, I could barely walk and standing up for more than five minutes was absolutely exhausting. However, with the patience and expertise of all of the employees there, I was soon able to walk, run, jump, lift, and climb. I’m positive that I can now do things I was never capable of doing even before physical therapy. In the short time I was there, I felt like I had become a part of a family. Everyone there knew about my life and my bi-weekly visits were something I looked forward to. I have seen a lot of people in the medical field over the past three years and experience has taught me that the line between friendly and professional is very fine and a difficult thing to learn to balance. The therapists– and receptionist!– at Holland Physical Therapy manage this balancing act flawlessly. I felt like I could talk and have fun with them, but at the same time trusted that their primary goal was to help me get better. I have only been away from their office for one week, but I miss my time there. I would recommend this place one thousand times over. Ford, Ruth, Megan, and Coleen are experts. If they hadn’t helped me out and pushed me as hard as they did, I would probably still be chair-bound and frightened to go out on my own. They gave me the courage and skills I needed to learn to be a healthy 23 year old. I owe them everything. If you are wondering if Holland Physical Therapy is the right place for you, I can’t urge you strongly enough to go. GO! They are miracle workers and will help you in ways you didn’t even know you needed help. (Holland Physical Therapy– Thanks for everything, guys. I already miss you. You ROCK!)

I developed chronic foot, knee and back problems in the last 2 years and  was fortunate to be referred to Ford Reinink. His thorough knowledge of physical therapy enabled  him to develop a treatment regimen that allowed me to resume skiing, hiking, biking, and kayaking without pain. As a physician I appreciate his clinical knowledge and skills, as a patient I appreciate his engaging style and enthusiasm. I have recommended him highly to my colleagues and patients.

-Dr. Steven Ashmead MD

I highly recommend Ford as a Physical Therapist. He very quickly understood the cause of my pain and was able to successfully treat it with manual therapy and exercises. I attribute part of this success to his ability to understand the body as a complex interconnected system, rather than just individual joints. It is evident that he stays current on and practices the most current professional practices. He is incredibly hard working, caring, and friendly. Ford helped decrease the level of my pain, increase my mobility, and taught me how to better treat myself with stretches and exercises!

Ford’s professionalism and true concern for his patients is obvious by the detail and care he provides with each appointment. I came into Ford’s care after years of having chronic issues with my upper neck, headaches, and numbness in my arms to the point my sleep was being interrupted. The doctor that recommended my PT was insistent that I go to Ford vs. going to a clinic that was much closer to where I live. I thought, I’ll go the first time and then switch to something closer.

The care and instructions I received in the first appointment made it an easy decision to continue with Ford. I felt that he provided a complete plan for me that would work and be something I could continue to use even after my therapy was over. It’s been approximately one year since I went to Ford, and I feel great. And if I start getting any symptoms back due to my work, I know what exercises I can do to correct the negative effects. I would highly recommend your care to Ford Reinink.

I was struggling with lower back problems which caused problems with my legs. I was going to a chiropractor every week for treatment. We discussed the problem and decided that PT would be necessary.

I then began treatment with Ford Reinink after having a recommendation from my daughter who was treated by Ford for running related injuries. After several PT visits, the chronic problem has gone from me being about 60% as functional as I once was to 95% of my old function in my legs. My last chiropractic appointment was 10 months ago and any tightness I feel, as long as I do my exercises from Ford my symptoms are totally managed with exercises alone.

I am totally satisfied with the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and follow from Ford. I even had my wife see him with similar results for her own back pain.

After recovering from a relatively rare surgery, I was referred to Ford’s physical therapy clinic by my surgeon. Ford’s expertise, expansive knowledge base, compassion and dedication were second-to-none, and it was quite apparent during our sessions. I wholeheartedly believe that my recovery time would not have been as progressive as it was had it not been for his understanding of my situation and his willingness to work within the scope of my means. Ford went out of his way to research my specific condition and surgery so we could achieve maximum benefit from the physical therapy sessions. This is just one example (of the many) that gives validity to his professionalism. I would highly recommend anyone in need or in search of a physical therapist to seek out Ford!

After years of playing sports and ‘playing through the pain,’ lots of things in my body just did not feel right. I hurt at random times, found myself not being as strong or flexible as I once was, and at times I was unable to even sleep the same. I’ve had my fair share of injuries from playing: torn muscles, bruises, sore feet and knees; clearly I was a mess. I didn’t think much of it and tried to convince myself that I was just getting old. However, after a minor injury at work I was referred to Physical Therapy with Ford.

To be honest I was skeptical about PT at first. My doctors had never really talked about it and I did not know the actual use of physical therapy, but my opinion quickly changed. Not only did Ford treat my work injuries, but we built a relationship where we discovered a lot of the sources of my current chronic pain. He pushed me and pushed me hard, but it was worth it. I’ve learned a lot about my body because of Ford; because of him my pain has subsided. I have been able to regain movement and strength and even play like a younger me.

I trust Ford more than I have ever trusted anyone with my pain and injuries. I have even followed his practice all the way from Grand Rapids to Holland because I refuse to work with anyone else. He and I frequently talk about what I want out of PT and jokingly I have said that I want to play until I’m 50, and the way I feel now that might be more of a reality than a joke. I appreciate you immensely, Ford, and my body thanks you.

My experience with Ford Reinink as my Physical Therapist began when my doctor recommended him for a painful and serious neck issue I was experiencing. Mr. Reinink quickly diagnosed the cause of the problem, and with a combination of precise stretching and special exercises, he was able to completely remove the pain and restore my range of motion. He also taught me home exercises I would be able to follow to maintain the gains we had made.

A year later I was back to deal with a partially torn rotator cuff. Surgery had been suggested as a probable necessity, and the first thing he did was test the shoulder thoroughly (and without causing pain!), to determine if physical therapy would allow me to avoid surgery. And it has.

I couldn’t be more impressed with his knowledge and skill, and recommend him highly!

When I started therapy with Ford I was barely able to run a 5k distance without having any pain in my ankles. He performed a top-down evaluation from my lower back, core, hips, knees, and feet, finding different impairments I had that were causing the pain in my ankles. He started with a hands-on approach to help ease my symptoms and then progressively developed a strengthening/exercise regimen for me to help improve my running. He even fitted me for full custom orthotics to help correct some of the biomechanical faults I had with my foot structure.

By the end of my therapy experience, Ford gave me the tools to independently manage and improve my symptoms and I’m now able to consistently run a 10k distance without pain. I had a great experience with Ford and I recommend him to any of my friends that are in need of physical therapy services.

Ford stands alone as the best provider I have ever seen, across all specialties. He genuinely cares about his patients’ well-being and will do everything to ensure they are progressing positively. I went to see Ford for a few different issues over the years, and each time I felt informed, motivated, and cared for. He personalized my care plan and made me feel like a priority. Ford’s exercises and methodology helped my problems tremendously and I have implemented them into my daily health routine. I highly recommend Ford to my family, friends, and anyone I meet who has PT needs. He is truly one of the nation’s best.

As an occupational therapist myself, I understand the potential benefit therapy has for a patient. I was very pleased with the therapy I received from physical therapist Ford Reinink. My script for PT was for knee pain that prevented me from running; however, after my initial visit with Ford it was determined that much of my knee pain was due to my foot and hip mechanics, as well as being 5 months postpartum.

I have received treatment from many other therapists and specialists in the past for my knee pain and Ford truly was the only one that addressed the underlying causes of my pain, which in turn helped with alleviating symptoms. Ford did a great job describing to me what, mechanically, was causing my knee pain and treating the underlying issues contributing to the symptoms by using various techniques rooted in evidence-based practices and much research.

Ford also created an individualized home program for me that helped with symptom management as well as continuing to treat the basis of the issues while keeping it realistic. He also was great in instructing my husband on a few stretches to do with me at home. I highly recommend Ford as a physical therapist due to his expansive knowledge, expertise, ability to explain everything he is doing and why, and passion for helping others. If you are someone who has been hesitant about therapy, give Ford a try and your hesitancy will quickly change to confidence in what therapy can do for you.

Getting to my age, parts start going bad, and I have the need to visit the physical therapist. I have never met one, until Ford Reinink, that has the combination of passion for fixing things and the intricate knowledge of anatomy and physiology to make it happen. He has helped me get rid of multiple vexing problems and he does it with the patience of Job.

-John J.

Ford Reinink is an excellent therapist. As a primary care physician, I have referred many patients to him over the years. My patients really liked him as a person and he got great results. More importantly, patients’ feedback from their experience was that they felt “confident” in his care. In other words, they had a sense that Ford “knows what he is doing.” This gave me peace of mind relative to those referrals. I always appreciated the fact that he would communicate with me as the referring physician, even calling me on several occasions to discuss pertinent issues related to my patient’s care.

My respect for him grew even more when I needed his services as a patient. I had a shoulder injury related to postural issues and carrying a laptop computer all day at work. Ford’s diagnostic approach was based on functional anatomic and physiologic principles. He did an extensive history and physical exam to pinpoint the problem. Ford then incorporated traditional Physical Therapy as well as Manual Medicine in his treatment regimen. As an Osteopathic Physician, this combination was very familiar to me. I found my personal experience as a patient to reinforce the positive feedback I have gotten from my patients. There is no question that Ford has an intense passion for his profession. He is very competent and delivers care in a manner that is confident yet comfortable. I have no reservations endorsing Ford Reinink as a physical therapist based on my experience both as a referring provider and as a former patient. In fact when my wife was prescribed physical therapy by her orthopedic physician, I was sure to have her set an appointment with Ford.
